[Hard Candy Christmas by Seattle Men’s Chorus, whose Christmas show is unfailingly awesome.]
This Christmas feels different, quieter than most. Maybe it’s because I was sick that week after Thanksgiving, or because Grandma was sick, or because the brother and I have both been working, or because we can’t really pretend anymore that there are any actual children in the family.
But there is a giant bag of presents for wrapping in the back of my car, and there are three days off even after today, and all of my friends are in town, and the food will be absurdly delicious, and maybe I’ll go to the Christmas Eve service at the Unitarian church tonight (which I threaten to do every year).
